Due to the semester interruption and shift in schedule to online modalities, Fall 2024 Symposium has been canceled and Tuesday, November 19, 2024 has been reclaimed as an instructional day.

 

Any required research/creative activity presentations will be arranged by departments and program areas.

Guidelines

Abstract

  • Abstract not to exceed 250 to 300 words.
  • Do not include keywords.
  • Do not include references.
  • Do not bold, italicize or underline words.
  • Format the abstract in one paragraph, single-spaced.
  • Use Arial font, size 12.
  • Formatting:
    • Title
    • Student Name(s), Faculty Mentor Name(s), Discipline
    • Abstract text

Oral Presentations

  • Oral presentations are 20 minutes (including a 5 minute Q & A).
  • Rehearse your presentation to ensure it meets time requirements.
  • Please be present for the entire session.
  • Consult with the Writing Center for assistance in your research process.
  • Suggested code of dress is business casual attire.

Poster Presentations

  • Sessions are two hours in duration.
  • Please be present for the entire session.
  • Poster boards (4ft x 3ft), binder clips and easels are supplied by URCAP.
  • Tips for designing a poster to be printed in the CrAFT Studio at Ramsey Library.
  • Large format poster printing is available at Ramsey Library – please be aware of print deadlines!
  • Consult with the Writing Center for assistance in your research process.
  • Suggested code of dress is business casual attire.
